The newcomers in the Bundesliga Union Berlin have a tough task on Saturday, because they are going to host Borussia Dortmund at their own Stadion An der Alten Forsterei. Let’s take a look at this fixture in our football forecast for today.
Union Berlin won just one point from the first two rounds of the German league. Last week Die Eisernen won their first point in the Bundesliga, doing a 1-1 draw during the visit to Augsburg. Ruben Vargas opened the score for the hosts, but just 10 minutes before the end Sebastian Andersson equalised for Union.
The visitors finished the game with 10 men on the pitch. The centre back Keven Schlotterbeck was sent off seven minutes before the end of the game. This means that he won’t be avaliable for the match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
In the same time Borussia Dortmund are leading the Bundesliga standings with two wins from the first two rounds. With the best goal difference so far, Dortmund are having advantage over Freiburg, RB Leipzig, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, who have the same amount of points at the moment.
Last week Borussia Dortmund visited another newcomer in the league Koln and enjoyed a 3-1 win. Just 20 minutes before the end Koln had a goal advantage in their favour, but Lucien Favre’s boys turned the game around with goals from Sancho, Hakimi and Alcacer. It was a solid performance from the visitors in the last 20 minutes of the match.
That’s our football forecast for today for the Bundesliga clash between Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund. Surely the visitors would like to avoid the pressure they felt during the game in Koln last week. Dortmund will try to decide everything much earlier, but let’s see if Union Berlin are going to allow this.
