Kiev did not allocate additional funds for holding the Champions League final

The authorities in Kiev refused to spend about $ 1 million for the capital of Ukraine at the Champions League final. On Thursday, only 51 councilors from the city council voted for the allocation, and the minimum needed to make the decision was 61. With the additional funds, a formal reception to honor the participants of the official delegations was planned to decorate the city with the UEFA symbols and make flags with the face of the players.

The relevant contract was signed by Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko and representatives of UEFA. The Ukrainian capital is obliged to organize a formal reception for all participants in the official delegations, and also to provide the city with the necessary look for the big football event. The final of the Champions League will be held on May 26 this year. The conduct of this match in Kiev became clear in September 2016.
