Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to Manchester United was greeted with great enthusiasm by team fans who accepted the deal as a direct victory over Manchester City’s rival. So far, however, the 29-year-old Chilean has been disappointed at Old Trafford, scoring just one goal in ten Red Devils. Besides, the former Arsenal player has come to the spotlight several times with negative records as to how often he loses the ball in one match. The difficulties Sanchez faces with his adaptation to United have already disturbed the governing factors in the club, the worries being that the Chilean may repeat the fate of Angel di Maria. The latter was attracted to Real in 2014, against a record £ 59.7 million for a British club. After an incompetent season in England he was sold to Paris Saint Germain for 44 million.
According to the Daily Mail, the headquarters are very surprised at how isolated and gloomy the Chilean is, who does not make enough effort to integrate into the new environment. An example is his behavior during the lunches of the training base where Sanchez usually feeds on his own.
“Alexis looks like a man who does not want to be here, and things do not look good, he looks like a boy who’s lost,” said Di Maria, “according to a source from the club.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, however, is confident that the player with the highest salary in the Premier League will show his true qualities next season.
