Southampton’s team won a tremendous victory in their visit to Swansea. “The Saints” had a 1-0 win at Liberty Stadium in a post-31 round match. It was a direct clash between two of the teams who struggled with teeth and nails to survive in the Premier League. That’s why today’s success was so valuable to guests. The big hero was Manolo Gabiadini, who scored the only goal in the 72th minute.
Both teams had their positions in the match, but Southampton stood a better idea than its rival. Charley Austin scored a few serious misses at the door of Lucas Fabianski who was doing his best to keep his door dry.
In the 72th minute, however, Swansea’s defense crashed fatally. At a corner, Austin fired powerfully, defender blocked his shot, but Gabiadini had a good position and brought the ball to 0: 1.
That was also the winner in the match, with Southampton already having 36 points and climbed to 16th place and so saved in practice. Swansea remains in the danger zone with 33 points and will have to hope for little help from fate if he wants to maintain his elite status. For this purpose, Huddersfield must lose two remaining matches with Chelsea and Arsenal, and “Swans” must necessarily defeat Stoke City in the final round.
