The Italian Roma accept Shakhter Donetsk in the rematch of the 1/8-finals of the Champions League tonight at 21.45 in Rome. The first match in Ukraine ended with Shakhtar 2: 1 success, and the “wolves” can be glad they did not lose more thanks to their phenomenal goalkeeper Alyson.
Roman Eusebio di Francesco coach is expected to bet on the team with which he started in the first game, but to change the 4-2-3-1 pattern to 4-3-3.
Shakhter are also positively upset before the game, saying they are coming to Rome not to keep the outcome of the first match, but to score a score for them. The bet for both teams is enormous – the winner will receive 11 million euros from the prize pool outside what has been done so far.
Both teams will play for the sixth time in each other in the Champions League, with the balance so far being strictly in favor of the Ukrainians – 4 to 1 wins. The only victory of the “wolves” is from the group stage in the 2006/2007 season when they beat home with 4: 0, and with the loss they lost by 0: 1.
In 2010/2011 the two teams are again in the elimination phase, with Shakhter winning two victories. Whether it’s the time of the rematch to come to understand tonight.
Possible configurations:
Roma: Alison, Florence, Manollas, Fazio, Kolarov, Nangolan, De Rossi, Strootman, Junger, Jacob, Perotti.
Shakhtar Donetsk: Piatov, Ismail, Rakitski, Ordec, Butko, Stepanenko, Fred, Bernard, Tyeson, Marlos, Ferreira.
